As you may have heard, Kindle Vella is beginning to wind down. I have some sincerely sappy words of gratitude below, but I’ll start with reassurance and logistics 🙂
Reassurance
I’m still writing Killers Mine!
Season 2, Viper’s Cage, is about halfway done. Maybe. Unless it gets longer than I expect. (like the first season… haha…) I won’t be able to finish it before Vella closes, but I’m already cross-posting episodes on my Patreon. The schedule is the same as on Vella — one episode every Murder Monday 🙂
Weekly episodes will continue on Patreon until the season is over, then I’ll edit it and publish it as a complete book. Just like season 1. You can subscribe to my newsletter at vashacrow.com/news for updates about the final book version of season 2.

Only season 2 and the extras are available on Patreon — to read season 1 in the future, you’ll have to buy or borrow the book version of Perfect Prey.
The payment system is different on Patreon. You subscribe by month instead of paying for each episode. It’s more expensive than Vella, so if money is a concern, I recommend subscribing at the free tier and upgrading every once in a while to binge on the episode backlog.
At this time, I don’t intend to add a new platform to replace Vella. This is a time and logistics issue for me. If I do ever add an alternate platform, I’ll let everyone know via my newsletter!

Basically:
All episodes you’ve read or unlocked will stay safe in your Kindle app library.
Writers will be able to post new episodes until December 4.
You’ll be able to buy new tokens until December 4 as well.
You’ll be able to unlock episodes with the tokens you already have until February 2025.
I’ll be sticking to my usual Murder Monday schedule through the end, so the last Vella episode of Killers Mine will be December 2.
The Sappy Stuff
I’m so grateful to the Vella readers who have read and supported Killers Mine over the past two years. Whether you met Kit and his boys from the beginning — August 2022! omg — or you joined the party later, your support means the world to me.
Early readers especially helped me know that Kit’s story was worth telling. There were times before the book 1 launch that I was stressed and busy with other things, and it might have been easier to set Killers Mine aside. But knowing that you were looking forward to each weekly episode kept me motivated. I’m so happy to have you on that journey with me.
